……..Admits disparity in figures of items he donated and ones he mentioned in viral video, as he apologize to Ministry of Health, Hospital Management Board and the State Government.
Member representing Umaisha/Ugya Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad, has apologized for defamation of characters, over fabricating missed materials in General Hospital, Umaisha, Toto LGA of the State.
He made the apology in a statement he released over missing materials he donated to the General Hospital.
“I am Honourable Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad, a Politician passionate about the health and socio-economic well-being of my people.
“This necessitates my quest to deliver on the citizens’ focused renewed-hope agenda for my people in over two years”
“Incidentally, I visited General Hospital, Umaisha on the 22nd of August, 2026 where I had earlier donated basic materials to equip the Hospital wards for improved healthcare delivery.
“The items donated were Orthopaedic Mattresses, Ceiling Fans, Wall Fans and Standing Fans aimed at substantially meeting the pressing needs of our teeming patients. These items were delivered within a month when I assumed office”
“For the record, I organized a two-day Medical Outreach between 22nd and 23rd of August, 2026 that enlisted Staff of the General Hospital and some outsourced professionals to engage in Health Education, Medical Laboratory Testing, Pharmaceutical Services and Surgeries.
“This is a constituency project designed to promote early disease detection and improve community health out-comes to the entire people of my constituency”
“The Health Intervention Programme was a huge success as Six Hundred and Sixty-One (661) patients were attended to and Twenty-Six (26) surgeries were carried out within the outreach period.
The lawmaker said he visited the wards of the hospital during the outreach.
“In the event of the outreach, I visited the wards to ascertain the conditions of the patients, to my dismay, none of the items I earlier donated over two years ago were available for patients’ use”
“I was infuriated and demanded explanations.
How can I be happy when my people are gravely uncomfortable while receiving medical care?
“How do we expect those who went through surgeries to recuperate on time so they can return to their families?
“These were the questions I envisaged during the outburst. My people voted me to protect them to deliver the dividends of democracy and I cannot be hidden in times like this”
“It is worthy of note that there was glaring disparity in the figures of items I donated to the facility and the one I said in the video that went viral. The disparity was due to subsequent reconsideration to provide adequate energy at the theatre and solar light within the General Hospital premises which were not initially part of my intended intervention”
“This led to a reduction of what I had approved for donation to the Hospital. The Orthopaedic mattresses, standing and ceiling fans were not sited in the wards during my visit, hence I demanded to be shown.
“However, it was brought to my attention that the Ministry of Health, Lafia in conjunction with the Hospital Management Board of the precinct have responded swiftly.
“And I earnestly believe the situation has been salvaged and clarification of the donated items have been made. I want the public to note that since my visit to the Hospital, the items I donated over two years ago were kept in the Hospital Store and some were used in the Hospital Quarters by Staff that were posted to the facility prior to my visit” he said.
Hon. Sa’ad said that the press release was not aimed at discrediting the Ministry of Health, Nasarawa State neither is it politically motivated to ridicule any stakeholder affiliated to the Ministry.
“We are partners in ensuring that the health status of the indigenes of Umaisha/Ugya are important indices in measuring the success or otherwise of our people.
“I urge Nigerians to disregard comments on any media aimed at undermining the Hospital Management Board and the Ministry of Health, Lafia, Nasarawa State.
“I endear the public to entrench healthcare initiatives that will overtly ameliorate the plights of the ordinary Nigerian” the lawmaker said.
Thank you.
Honourable Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad
Member, Nassarawa State House of Assembly
Representing Umaisha/Ugya Constituency.
