Nasarawa Assembly inspects flyovers, underpass, other projects in Akwanga, Keffi, Karu LGAs

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for investing heavily in infrastructural development across the state.”

Chairman, House Committee on Nasarawa Urban Development Board (NUDB), Hon Musa Saidu Gude gave the commendation while inspecting projects in Lafia, Akwanga and Karu LGAs respectively today.

It would be reported that the committee inspected construction of Kilema Tudun Amba bridge, Culvert from Shege to Tudun Amba, Angwan Maina drainage, Welcome to Lafia Gate, Akwanga flyover and underpass, Akwanga/Jos bypass road, ongoing construction of Keffi and Mararaba twin flyover.

The committee’s chairman said that Gov. Sule deserved commendation for the construction of flyovers, underpass and other infrastructure in the state.

Hon Gude said that the visit was to assess state government projects in order to ensure that right things are done and to correct any abnormality, if discovered.

” We are here to inspect and assess the projects with the view of ensuring that quality work is done and to correct any abnormality if discovered.

” Today, we inspected the construction of Kilema Tudun Amba bridge, Culvert from Shege to Tudun Amba, Welcome to Lafia Gate, Akwanga flysover and underpass, Akwanga/ Jos by- pass road.

” We have also inspected ongoing construction of Keffi and Mararaba twin Flyovers,” he said.

He also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for awarding the contract among other projects across the state.

The Committee’s Chairman expressed happiness with the quality of works done by contractors.

” So far, we are happy with the quality and standard of work as quality materials are being used by the contractors,” he said

” We want to commend contractors handling various works for doing good job.

” We are okay and we are satisfied with the quality of work done and we urge them to continue with the standard of work,” he said

He assured of the committee’s continued commitment to inspect projects across the state.

The Committee’s Chairman assured contractors of their support to enable them complete their projects.

Also speaking, Hon Suleiman Yakubu Azara, the Vice Chairman of the Committee and the Majority Leader of the House also appreciated the quality of work done by the contractors.

” We have seen the quality of work and to the best of our knowledge, we have appreciated the work,” he said.

On Mararaba twin Flyover, Hon Azara said that the committee observed that there are some necessity changes and the need to do something to ensure easy flow of water and to ease traffic in the area

“And they have assured us that they will do something to ensure free flow of water among others,” he said.

On his part, Engr. Mohammed Yahaya Wada, Managing Director, Nasarawa Urban Development Agency, has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for prioritizing the development of infrastructure across the state.

He also appreciated the committee for ensuring that contractors adhere strictly to their project specifications.

On Mararaba twin flyover, Wada assured that the observation raised by the committee would be addressed to ensure easy flow of water and to decongest traffic.

” In this particular project, we have observed that there is necessity of changes which we are working on for now.

” The site road which is two lane and we are designing to see the possibility of making
it to be three lane which will required additional cost,” he said

The Managing Director assured of his commitment to ensure that quality works are delivered by contractors in the state.

Earlier, Engr. Mario Khoury, the Stie Manager, Bauhaus Global, the contractor handling the construction of Keffi flyover appreciated the committee for the visit and assured of standard work.

He told the committee that the work would be completed at the end of this year.

” By God’s grace, this work will be completed by December this year, 2026,” he said.

On his Part, Engr. Fersan Daou, the Area Manager, Triacta Nigeria Limited, Contractor handling the contractor of Mararaba twin Flyover appreciated the committee for positively discharging one of its constitutional responsibilities.

” I want to appreciate you for coming and for your support towards this projects.

” I also want to assure you that we will deliver quality work by God’s grace,” he said

He assured that the project will be done according to specifications.
