The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its sustained air offensives in Borno State have triggered fear and disarray among terrorist elements operating within the Sambisa Forest axis.
The NAF, through the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, said it conducted precision airstrikes on May 26 targeting terrorist hideouts and logistics structures at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area.
According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the strikes followed credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports.
Ejodame said the coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralised several fighters, further degrading the operational capability of the insurgents.
He noted that the sustained intensity of the air campaign had continued to generate apprehension and confusion within terrorist ranks, denying them freedom of movement and safe havens.
“Intelligence assessments indicate growing disorientation among the terrorists as the bombardments persist across the Sambisa axis,” he said.
He reaffirmed that the NAF, in collaboration with ground troops of Operation HADIN KAI and other security agencies, would sustain pressure on terrorist networks.
The spokesman added that the force remained committed to protecting civilians and restoring lasting peace in the North-East region.
