As political activities start picking up and gathering momentum ahead of 2027 general election, Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency of Toto LG in Nasarawa State has today Saturday came alive and the town was short down with political activities.
This followed the visit by the former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi to his home town Umaisha to commence grassroots mobilization for his party and candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The arrival of the Immediate Past Speaker of the State Legislative Arm Balarabe Abdullahi was a side to behold as the Constituency was fully engaged and brought to a stands still with citizens who trooped out in their numbers for show of love and solidarity to their political leader Balarabe Abdullahi.
The people devoid of affiliations, young and old, youths and women defiled the day’s sunshine, converged at border town of the Constituency to give him a rowdy welcome in a joint political rally described as the most overwhelming in recent times.
Balarabe train with his supporters moved round the town and arrived at the venue for the day political mobilization and awareness gathering in the heart of the town where citizens converged to received and hear the message from the son of the soil on their political direction come 2027.
Balarabe Abdullahi who was visibly happy and overwhelmed with the massive turnout of people appreciated them for standing by him even after living office.
And his message to the people was very cleared, the 2027 general election which according to him is fast approaching and was the reason for his coming down home to enable him put the house in order and his people on the right track on the direction to go.
Accordingly and unanimously through voice vote he endorsed the candidates of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for return ticket, Sen. Ahmed Wadada Aliyu for Nasarawa State Governor, Dr. Faisal Shauiabu for Senate, Nasarawa West and Hon. Muhammed Yarima Albashir for House of Representatives for Nasarawa/Toto all on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
However, Balarabe Abdullahi and his people unanimously rejected the re-election bid of the incumbent member representing Umaisha/Ugya constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad of APC and endorsed Hon. Muhammed Muntaka of PDP as their choice candidate for 2027.
Balarabe Abdullahi spoke extensively to the unprecedented crowd on the qualities, capacities and conviction of the APC candidates and why the State Assembly member was rejected.
Speakers after speakers eulogized the good virtues of the former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi in an atmosphere of regret, confession and desmay from the people who apologized to him as well as thanking him for not abandoning his people.
Balarabe Abdullahi made a cash donation of over N4 million to political groups where women group got N1 million, youths five hundred thousand, Good Friday Association five hundred thousand, Balarabe Media went with three hundred thousand, So Uku Balaifi Group, Elders Forum among others all got their shares from three hundred thousand and above respectively.
He also unveiled a campaign billboard for the APC candidates.
