2027: Nasarawa Speaker meets supporters, stakeholders, drums support for Tinubu, Wadada, APC

Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has appealed to stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kokona Local Government Area, particularly his supporters, to accept the outcome of the party’s recently concluded primary elections in good faith and mobilise support for all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dr. Jatau made the appeal during a meeting with his supporters and members of the APC drawn from across Kokona Local Government Area at his residence in Garaku today Sunday.

While addressing the gathering, the Speaker thanked God for the gift of life and seeing him through the party primary election successfully despite losing to his younger brother Hon. Daniel Ogazi saying he has accepted the outcome in good faith urging his people to do same.

It was reported that the party faithfuls, mostly his supporters from across Kokona Local Government Area who gathered at his instance in his residence, Dr. Danladi Jatau told them that the APC party is a one united family, stressing that while every contest produces winners and losers, the overall interest of the party must take precedence over individual ambitions.

The Speaker urged members to shun actions capable of creating division, bitterness and disaffection within the party, emphasizing that only a united APC can secure victory in the 2027 general elections.

“Politics is about service and party loyalty. I appeal to everyone to accept the outcome of the primaries in good faith. Let us remain united, peaceful and work together to ensure victory for all APC candidates in 2027”

Dr. Jatau also appreciated his supporters for their unwavering loyalty, maturity and peaceful conduct before, during and after the primary election, assuring them that their commitment to the party and the development of Kokona Local Government Area would not be taken for granted, thus urging them to remain steadfast and continue supporting all APC candidates at all levels.

“I sincerely appreciate your support and confidence on me over the years. Let us continue to strengthen our party, avoid unnecessary disagreements and focus on delivering electoral success for the APC in the next general elections”

He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC stressing that he remain a loyal member of the party.

“I am still in the APC, and I remain a committed member of the party, I urge all my supporters to continue supporting the APC administration of Gov. Abdullahi Sule and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu” he said.

Jatau then called on all his supporters to unite behind the APC Governorship Candidate, Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has always sought my support, and today I called on all my supporters to come together and support his candidature in 2027, together we can strengthen our party, and ensure it’s victory and continued progress of Nasarawa State” he said.

Speaker Jatau also called on the people of the State to always promote unity, love and peaceful coexistence regardless of ethnic or religious differences.

“We are all one and equal before God Almighty, let us live together in unity, love and harmony without allowing our backgrounds divide us. This is the only part to sustainable peace and meaningful development” he added.

Some party stakeholders and supporters who spoke at the gathering to include the Secretary of Kokona Local Government Council, Mikailu Sallau, Hon. Aminu Gaya and Hon. Ladi Audu among others, pledged their continued loyalty and support to the Speaker and the APC, assuring him of their commitment to mobilise grassroots support for all APC candidates.

“We have accepted the Speaker’s appeal. We will remain united, reconcile with one another and work for the success of the APC because the interest of the party is greater than individual interests”

They all appreciated him for his faith in God, maturity and sportsmanship exhibited in the political arena.

The meeting featured prayers for peace, unity and the continued progress of the APC in Kokona Local Government Area, Nasarawa State and the country at large.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the Councillors’ Forum of Nasarawa State paid a sympathy visit to Dr. Danladi Jatau over his loss at the recently concluded APC primary for Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, whereas the Speaker appreciated the forum for the show of love and solidarity and urged members to mobilise support for APC candidates in the overall interest of the party.

Also, a group known as the Keffi Zone Progressive Forum presented an Award of recognition to Dr. Danladi Jatau, honouring him as the Peace Ambassador of Nasarawa State.
