“•••• as New NSIRS Chairman assures of improved revenue•••••”
Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA),has confirmed the appointment of Mr Ibrahim Sarki Adamu as Chairman of Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service ( NSIRS) and three members of the board.
Rt. Hon Dr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House announced their confirmation after their appearances during the House proceedings today in Lafia.
The Speaker said that the confirmation of the Chairman and three other members was based on their track records and confidence Gov. Abdullahi Sule has in them.
According to him, we have confirmed the appointment of Ibrahim Sarki Adamu as Chairman and Ibrahim Hamza, Canaan Costine Wando and Usman Adams as members of Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service.
The Speaker urged the chairman and members of the board to embrace team work in order to generate more revenue to the coffer of the state government.
Jatau assured them of the House readiness to support the board to succeed.
“ I want to assure the Chairman and other members of Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service that we will give them necessary support to succeed,” he said.
The Speaker, then directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the House resolution to Gov. Sule for necessary action.
Earlier, Hon Suleiman Yakubu Azara ( APC- Awe South ), the Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the confirmation of the nominees.
Hon Luka Iliya Zhekaba ( PDP-Obi 11), the Minority Leader of the House seconded the motion.
The House unanimously screened and confirmed the nominees.
Speaking with newsmen, the new Chairman of the board, Mr Ibrahim Sarki Adamu assured of his commitment to improve on the revenue base of the state.
” We will work in synergy with other stakeholders in order to improve on the revenue base of the state.
” We will also look inward for improved revenue in the State,” he said.
It would be recalled that on April 20, 2026, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has sent the name of Ibrahim Sarki Usman as Chairman and three members of Nasarawa Internal Revenue Service to the House for Screening and Confirmation..
