The Executive Chairman of Karu Local Government Council, Barr. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, has charged the newly appointed Council Secretary, Hon. Rabo Maikasuwa Turaki, to uphold integrity, accountability and transparency in the discharge of his official responsibilities.
Madaki gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of the new Council Secretary, describing the appointment as both an honour and a call to greater public service.
According to the Chairman, the office of the Council Secretary requires integrity, diligence, sound judgment, loyalty and a firm commitment to the interests of the people.
He urged Rabo to approach his new assignment with humility and dedication, while working closely with the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Councillors, management and staff of the Local Government.
The Chairman further tasked the new Council Secretary with contributing meaningfully to the implementation of the policies and programmes of the Local Government.
He called on Rabo to promote teamwork, maintain an open-door approach and ensure effective coordination within the administrative machinery of the Council.
Madaki said the administration remained committed to improving the welfare of residents and strengthening the delivery of essential services across Karu Local Government.
He, however, noted that achieving the objectives of the administration would require collective efforts and cooperation among political office holders, career civil servants, traditional institutions, community leaders, youth, women, development partners and residents.
The Chairman consequently called on members of the Council and staff to extend the necessary cooperation and support to the newly appointed Secretary to enable him perform his duties effectively.
“Let us continue to work together as one team, guided by the principles of service, accountability and dedication,” he said.
Madaki also reminded the new Council Secretary that his appointment should not be regarded merely as a position of authority, but as an opportunity to make a positive and lasting contribution to the development of Karu Local Government.
He urged Rabo to ensure that his tenure was characterised by hard work, respect for due process, effective coordination and commitment to the people.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders, staff and residents of Karu Local Government for their continued support and cooperation with his administration.
In his message to the newly appointed Secretary, Madaki congratulated Rabo on his appointment and wished him wisdom, strength and success in the discharge of his responsibilities.
