Gov. Sule presents N92.2bn 2025 supplementary budget to Nasarawa Assembly for approval

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has submitted a Supplementary Appropriation Bill of N92,150, 231, 374.88 only for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau disclosed this during the House proceedings on Monday in Lafia.

The letter by Governor Sule presenting the supplementary budget to the House reads, “The Speaker may wish to note that the 2025 Appropriations was designed with the objective of achieving a realistic and implementable budget outcome.

” Considering prevailing economic uncertainties. The State Government has observed with delight the improved inflows from both the Federation Accounts, Capital Receipts Predominantly from the NG-Cares and SABER Programme for Results and Internally Generated Revenue within the fiscal Year” he said.

Sule said that the supplementary budget was to align with the accounting records and incorporate the present administration’s new plan for Infrastructural development across the state.

” Such as the approval for flyover at Mararaba as well as to capture newly created agencies of Government as passed into law by the Honourable House of Assembly notably Fire and Rescue Service, Education Trust Fund, Electricity Regulatory Commission among others.

” It has become expedient for Government to prepare a supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year and to amend other line items in order to accommodate emerging policies, projects and programmes” he said.

Gov. Sule said that there is the need for budgetary adjustments and reviews to meet the emerging demands and challenges arising from changes in national macroeconomic variables.

According to the Speaker “A Bill for a Law to Authorize the Issue Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the State the Sum of N92, 150, 231, 374.88 only Supplementary/ Amendment Appropriation Bill) for the Services of Nasarawa State Government for the 2025 Fiscal Year to N476, 468, 074, 966.91 only covering the period from 1st January to 31st December, 2025 scales first reading. The Speaker said.

Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the House after reading the Governor’s letter gave assurances for the expeditious passage of the Supplementary Appropriation bill into law.

The Speaker slated tomorrow, Nov.18, 2025. for the second reading of the bill.

It would be reported that on Nov. 29, 2024. Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has presented N382.57billion Appropriation Bill for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for approval.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule presented the Appropriation bill christened: “Budget of Economic Growth and Stability” before the legislature in Lafia.

According to the Governor, N159.97 billion representing 41.82 per cent is for recurrent expenditure and N222.60 billion representing 58.18 per cent is for capital expenditure.

It would also be reported that on Dec. 31, 2024, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N384.3 billion into law.

The budget is about N2 billion above the estimate the Governor submitted earlier to the parliament.
