Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has called for fervent prayers for God’s intervention to tackle the insecurity challenges facing the country.
The Speaker made the call at an Easter Sunday service at Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) GoodNews Garaku, Kokona LGA today.
Dr. Jatau said that no nation would achieve speedy development without peace.
According to him, prayers solve every problem. Let’s continue to pray for the unity and peace of our state and the country at large.
The Speaker while felicitating with Christians on 2026 Easter celebration, also urged Christians and other Nigerians to continue to live in peace and unity irrespective of their affiliations.
” As usual, I am an advocate of peace, I want to call on us to continue to live in peace and unity with one another as God did not made a mistake for creating us with different tribes and religion.
” The progress and development of the state and the country depends on our ability to live together in peace and unity ” he added.
Jatau also urged Christians and other Nigerians to reflect deeply on the solemn journey of Lent and sustain the virtues imbibed during period.
” Easter celebration is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
” It is considered the most important event in Christianity, symbolizing victory over sin and death.
” It affirms victory over sin and death, offering hope of eternal life,” the Speaker said.
According to him, let’s keep hope alive no matter our situations and challenges.
Jatau used the medium to call on the people of the state to continue to pray and give their maximum support to Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s Administration to succeed.
Besides, the Speaker sympathized with the people of Udege community over recent killings and destruction of properties by unknown gunmen.
” Our prayers is that one day the unknown gunmen will be known” he said.
Speaker Jatau further commended President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State for taking proactive measures to tackle insecurity recently affected the state.
The Speaker further urged politicians, stakeholders and others to play politics by its rules for rancour free 2027 general elections stressing that leadership comes from God.
On his Part, Pastor Amos Samuel, Assistant Reverend of the church has urged Christians to imbibe the virtues of peace, unity, sacrifice, and love among others.
He took his reading from Luke 24:1- 12, 1 Corinthians 15: 54-55 with the Topic ” The Significance of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ”.
He said that the resurrection of Jesus Christ guarantee the victory over death, sickness, insecurity and other challenges of life.
He also urged Christians to shun sinful acts by living an exemplary lives in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
The man of God also prayed for the Speaker and other leaders as well as for the unity, peace, progress and development of the country.
It would be reported that the Easter Service featured different song ministrations among others.
