Twelve out of fourteen Executive members of the Eggon Youths Association (EYA) Worldwide, have distanced themselves from the purported endorsement of People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) Gubernatorial candidate, Mr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu for the 2027 general elections by the President of the Association, Comrade Friday Ozigi.
The position was made known by the National PRO I of the Association, Mr Alaku Hope Taimako, while speaking with journalists today in Nasarawa Eggon LGA
Taimako described the purported endorsement by the president of the association, as an attempt to undermine the integrity of the socio-cultural body and called on the entire Eggon Nation to disregard it.
He urged Eggon sons and daughters not to allow themselves to be deceived by self-seeking individuals and to remain focused on the overall development of the state.
Also contributing, the National PRO 11 of the Association, Mr. Averson Paul Audu, said the purported endorsement violates the constitution of the association.
” I am here to add my voice to what the PRO One of the Association just said in respect to the purported endorsement going on in the social media by the EYA President.
” This is a socio- cultural association and there is no where we held a meeting to endorse any candidate.
” We distance ourselves and I urge Eggon youths, Eggon Nation and the public to disregard the endorsement,” he said
The duo reaffirmed their commitment that EYA would continue to promote unity and peace among Eggon youths and others for the overall development of the association and the state at large
