The Yoruba socio-cultural group under the umbrella of Yoruba Community 19 Northern States and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has inaugurated New elected officials to pilot affairs of the group for the next four years.

reports that the new leadership of the group was elected and inaugurated in Kano State following the expiration of the former leadership’s term.
In his acceptance speech, Barr. Afeez Adigun, the new President General of the group said under his leadership, they would work toward ensuring unity, harmonious and peaceful coexistence among other ethnic nationalities in Northern Nigeria.
Barr. Adigun said the leadership of the Yoruba Community in Northern States under his watch would work closely with various governments toward maintaining a cordial relationship between the group and the governments of the day.
He enjoined members to sustain being good ambassadors of the Yoruba socio-cultural entity, and urged them to maintain good neighborliness with their host communities.
“I want to specially thank the outgoing President and his EXCO members for organising a successful election and inauguration.
“The new leadership under my watch will work on modality to ensure that all disputes and grievances either among States chapters of the group or individuals are reconciled.
“We will ensure that there is a cordial relationship between the Yoruba Community 19 Northern States and FCT and governments for the effective running of the community,” he said.

Speaking during the inauguration the outgoing President General Dr Jimpat Aiyelagbe tasks the new leadership to work as a team for the progress of the Community in Northern Nigeria,
The newly inaugurated leadership includes: Barr Afeez Adigun, President General, from Nasarawa state, Hon James Olorunfemi, Deputy President, from Sokoto state, Prof. Owolabi Badmus Ajayi, Vice President General North East, from Taraba state, Asiwaju Adeyemi Apanpa, Vice President General North Central, from Benue state
Others are Comrade Sam Alade, Vice President General North West, from Kano state, Alh Tunde O Aliagan, Secretary General from Kaduna state, Chief Obisesan Nurudeen, 1st Asst. Secretary, from FCT Mr Joseph Durojaye, 2nd asst. Secretary, from Taraba state, Dcn Ayorinade Deborah, Treasurer from FCT
