Mr Thomas Bako, a councillor representing Wakama electoral ward in Nasarawa State, has urged youths and women to take active part in politics for good governance in the country.

Bako, who is the Deputy Chief Whip at Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Legislative Council, made the call at Ezhiba-Wakama on  Friday when youth and women groups visited him to rejoice with him over his victory at the poll.

Bako, a graduate of Geography from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, said that when youths and women take active part in politics, it would enable them to contribute their quota to the development of the country.

“I want to appreciate you all for your support and for voted me to represent you.

“Leadership comes from God and by the grace of God, I will not disappoint you.

”I will ensure good and quality representation at the council in order to improve on your standard of living.

”I will work closely with our boss, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Danlami Idris, other politicians and stakeholders to attract development to our ward.

“I want to call on you to get involved and participate actively in politics in your interest and for the overall development of our ward,” he said.

Bako solicited for the support of all and sundry to enable him succeed at the legislative council.

He called on the people of the ward to continue to support Sen. Godiya Akwashiki (APC-Nasarawa North), and Alhaji Mohammed Muluku, member representing Nassarawa Eggon East constituency at the state legislature to succeed.

”Let’s continue to support His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and our executive chairman to succeed in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy,” he urged.

The re-elected councillor called on the people of the area and the state to continue to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and live peacefully with one anotherer for development to thrive.

Earlier, Mr Paul Avreson-Audu, Mrs Kasuwa Titus, the Chairman, Ezhiba Youth Movement and Women Leader, APC Wakama Ward, respectively, said that the visit was to congratulate the councillor on his victory at the poll and subsequent swearing-in.

They urged him to remain focused by attracting development to the community.

They also urged him to carry every body along while discharging his duties.
