Halima Shehu, National Coordinator, National Social Investment Programme Agency (N-SIPA), on Tuesday cancelled the planned distribution of cash grants and starter packs in Karu, Nasarawa State.

It was reported that the National Coordinator was on her way to the venue of the event when the news of her alleged suspension broke-out.

She later returned to the Maitama annex of the office from the event tagged: “Distribution of Cash Grants and Starter Packs to Vulnerable Groups and Victims of Abuja Organ Trade Black Market in Karu, Nasarawa State”.

According to reports that there is no official explanations for the abrupt cancellation of the ceremony.

Shehu was reported by various online and social media outlets on Tuesday to have been suspended by President Bola Tinubu over undisclosed reasons.

Barely four-hours after the alleged suspension, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were seen in her office removing files and other documents from the office and barricaded the main entrance of the premises.

The four-hours operation which started with a mild drama between the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the EFCC was later settled after the DSS withdrew their operatives from the scene.

Efforts, however, to get confirmation of the suspension from sources at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation proved abortive.
