Sallah : Nasarawa Speaker doles out N30 million for constituents

………Announces plans to commence scholarship scheme worth N30 million.

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau Ph.D has distributed 1000 bags of rice and over N10 million cash to the people of his constituency in the spirit of sallah celebration.

The Speaker made the distribution today in his residence in Garaku, Kokona LGA.

Dr. Jatau said that the gesture was part of his continued commitment to improve on the standard of living of the people of his constituency.

According to him, during last year Christmas, I have spent over N30 million to distribute rice and cash to the people of my constituency.

“And today, I am also distributing 1000 bags of rice and over N10 million cash totalling N30 million in the spirit of sallah celebration.

“This is to improve on the standard of living of our people before, during and after sallah” he said.

He also urged the beneficiaries not to sale the rice but use them for the purpose they are meant for.

The Speaker also urged those who are yet to benefit from his gesture to be patient while assuring them of better days ahead.

Speaker Jatau urged the people of his constituency to continue to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

He also urged the people of his constituency to support the Governorship aspirant that Gov. Sule will annoint to succeed him in 2027.

Besides, the Speaker used the medium to congratulate new executive members of the party for their emergence during the State, local government and ward congresses of the party.

He also commended the stakeholders for their peaceful conduct during the congresses.

The Speaker announced that he has set aside N30 million for scholarship to be distributed to less privileged students of Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal constituency.

This, he said is to reduce the burden of school fees on their parents and guardians.

Jatau further urged the people of Kokona LGA to continue to shun religious and ethnic politics as well as embrace unity and peace irrespective of their affiliations.

Earlier, Hon. Terry Bado, APC Chairman Kokona LGA, commended Jatau for his continued support to the people of his constituency via palliative distribution among other support.

He called on the people of the constituency to continue to pray and support the Speaker to succeed in 2027.

The Chairman also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his developmental strides in the state.
