The Rotary Club of Asokoro in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) says it is set to serve the people of the territory and change lives to complement government’s effort.

Mrs Adetola Fazaz, the newly sworn-in President of the Club, made the pledge in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.

Fazaz said that the Rotary theme for 2021 is “Serve to Change Lives’’, adding that “Rotary is about doing good and committed to changing lives positively, through the execution of development projects for communities.

“We have already lined up projects like getting involved in COVID-19 vaccination, renovation of schools, provision of text books and other educational materials for students, provision of boreholes to communities and others.

“We have seven areas of focus in Rotary and for each area, we have a minimum of two projects that we want to execute and we have budgets attached to them.

“The accumulated total is above six million naira which we intend to get by seeking from within ourselves, friends and Nigerians in general,” he said.

He said that by doing these, the group would be complementing the efforts of government in provision of education, infrastructure and social amenities for the citizenry.

“So, my message to residents in FCT is that, we are coming to serve them and change lives,’’ Fazaz said. (NAN)
