A political heavy weight and national leader, Chief Victor Ogba has officially defected to the APC.
Chief Ogba who was one time Edo state Chairman of the Defunct National Conscience Party (NCP) officially joined the APC on Tuesday in Asaba, the state Capital.
He was given a rousing welcome by the Delta State Chairman of APC and his executives.
This is contained in a statement signed by Chief Victor Ogba in Abuja on Thursday.
Accompanied by a large retinue of personalities including the APC Emede Ward Chairman and some members of the Ward Exco, the APC Isoko South Local Government Chairman and few members of his Exco, the hierarchy of his family members, his long-standing political associates from Edo and Delta States, and members of the fourth Estate of the realm, the colourfully arrived the busy premises of Delta State APC Secretariat.
Declaring his membership of APC, Chief Victor Ogba thanked the state chairman for his wise counsel and guidance in directing him on how to join the APC family in Delta State.
Ogba recalled how first he made the move to join the APC, meeting with the chairman to intimate him with his desire to join the party.
He thanked him for advising him to go to his ward first and then making himself known at the Local Government level of the party, before eventually reverting back to him at the state level.
Ogba said that he had come to formally inform him that he had completed the process of his registration as an APC faithful.
He confidently told the Chairman that he was happy to say that he had not only concluded his registration at both the ward and local government levels, but also that the Chairmen at both levels of the party did him the honour of accompanying him to see him there that day.
He went down the memory lane to tell the Chairman and the audience of his background in politics, the various positions he had held and still holding, and the notable roles he had played and he is still playing.
Ogba then concluded by saying that he is ready to contribute his bit to advance the cause of the APC in Delta State and more specifically, that he is readily available to go on any ‘errand’ or carry out assignments as may be entrusted with from time to time.
Thereafter, he thanked the chairman once again for the opportunity he had given him to join the APC family in Delta State, and for the fatherly role he has been playing towards him.
Responding, the Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie welcomed Chief Ogba and his entourage to the Delta State APC Secretariat.
Sobotie said that he had been following, on the social media, his write-ups as well as various roles he had been playing.
He described Ogba as a young man full of lots of energy which to him, would be useful to the Delta State APC family.
He said that the APC will certainly be engaging him, and that he would saddle him with lots of responsibilities in addition to making him do enough to the advancement of the party.
He advised him not to disregard his ward and that he should pay attention to Emede ward from where he hails.
The APC state Chairman however promised to personally introduce him to the serving Senator Representing Delta South Senatorial District, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas.
Sobotie concluded by saying that he is sure, and highly optimistic, that Comrade Ogba would be of use and much importance to the APC family in Delta State.
A reception was later organized by Chief Ogba for the large entourage that accompanied him on the visit to the Delta State APC Secretariat.
