The Police Command in Cross River State on Sunday confirmed the abduction of three students of the University of Calabar (Unical).
The spokesperson of the Command, SP Irene Ugbo who gave the confirmation, said that the students were abducted on Thursday night at one of the University hostels inside the campus.
Ugbo who didn’t gave details of the abduction, however, said that the Police was working in collaboration with other relevant authorities and agencies including the school’s security personnel to rescue the abducted students.
A source who pleaded anonymity had given the names of the students to include Ojang Precious Ebejin, a 200-level student of the Department of Medicine and Surgery, Ugwu Chukwuemeka, a 300-level student of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology and Damilola Dickson, a final-year student of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology.
According to reports there has been series of abduction recently inside the campus and staff quarters of the university.
