Two men who allegedly killed a man over alleged car doors’ theft have been arrested by the police, in Lagos State.
The Command’s image maker, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest on Sunday.
Hundeyin said that the arrest was made on Thursday, at about 7.50 p.m. after the wife of the deceased, one Mistura reported the case at Iponri Police Division.
He said the woman reported that on same day at about 8.00 a.m., while she was at home, she received a call that some people were beating her husband, one Sarafadeen Atanda.
“In her report, she said they were beating her husband because he allegedly stole two doors of a car.
“She reported that on getting to the scene, she saw her husband in a pool of his blood and the same people who beat him took his him away in trycycle popularly called Keke Maruwa.
“She further said that she heard later that on their ways to the hospital, her husband died. She said efforts to locate the suspects proved abortive,”.he quoted the deceased wife as saying in her report.
Hundeyin said that when the division got the information, the Divisional Police Officer quickly mobilised detectives, where two suspects were arrested and the lifeless body of the man recovered from where it was abandoned inside the trycycle.
He said those arrested were Yusuf Ahmed, 33 years old and Olayinka Sanusi, 34 years old respectively.
“The body has been deposited at Mainland General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing.
