Dignitaries, worshippers, and devotees across Osun State and beyond, graced the Osun-Osogbo Festival for its grand finale.
The dignitaries were seen, on Friday, as early as 7 a.m. moving towards the Osun River.
According to reports, traditionalists and hunters together with the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC), in their motorcade, were sighted close to the venue of the grand finale in jubilation and excitement.
Cultural dancers and drummers were not left out as many were also seen dancing and beating their drums to the grove.
Security personnel including the Amotekun, Police, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, were at strategic locations to ensure that the event was peaceful and without rancour.
Moving towards the Ataoja Palace (one that stretches out his hand and takes the fish), the venue was filled with devotees, worshippers, and traditionalists together with a few dignitaries across and outside the state.
Also, part of the sponsors of the events included “Seamans Aromatic Schnapps” had logos that were seen across some parts of the palace and other parts of the Osogbo grove.
The grove remained calm with people rushing towards the river with jerry cans and containers to fetch from the river water for spiritual blessings.
Many devotees, who dressed in their cultural attires, were not left out as they headed towards the grove to pay their homage.
They carried all sorts of spiritual gifts, among other items, to the grove.
The Arugba, who is a young virgin is expected to carry a calabash to the river as a sacrifice to the Osun river goddess, which signifies the peak of the festival.
