Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau Ph.D has called on Nigerians to be patriotic in all their dealings and exhibits high level of attitudinal change as they entered the new year 2026 for a better society and more prosperous Country.
This, the Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen also advocated for peace, unity and support for government and leaders at all levels to succeed for development to thrive.
These were part of his new year message as he visits his own town Angiri in Kokona LGA of the State to celebrate the day with his kinsmen and attend Church service.
While in the community, his people of Bassa District used the Speaker’s home coming to appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to construct the road linking the locality with Garaku, the headquarters of the local government.
The New Year celebration this time around was unique among the people as it comes with euphoria culminating into different celebrations including church services and cultural display in welcoming their son home on a special day event.
In a New Year Message at a church service, the Speaker called on the people of Nasarawa State to appreciate their cosmopolitan nature, saying it is when all and sundry appreciate unity in diversity irrespective of their affiliations that Nasarawa State will achieve the yearnings and aspirations of the state’s founding fathers.
Pastor Bature Komi Mallo of ECWA Angiri who took his reading from Second Kings Chapter Six on the topic the Purpose of Living, enjoined people irrespective of their status in the society to worship God absolutely who is the maker and finisher of everything on earth.
Back home in his compound, Dr Jatau played host to different sociopolitical groups who turned out in their numbers to wish him “happy New Year” and called on him to contest for the seat of the House of Representative for Keffi-Kokona-Karu federal constituency in 2027.
Among their requests to the Speaker, was an appeal to Governor Abdullahi Sule to construct, Dare-Bassa-Angiri road given its social economic importance, a request Speaker Danladi Jatau said he is optimistic that Governor Abdullahi Sule will grant and shade their tiers before the end of his tenure.
Dr. Jatau used the New Year platform to called on youth in the State to embrace skills acquisition in the face of scarcity of white cola jobs, saying the world is evolving with the aid of technology and it will be unfair to the youths in the state to ignore the advantages of being self reliant.
Dr. Danladi Jatau also at his New Year Message expressed his heartfelt condolence to the Eggon Nation and the State over the demise of the Senator representing the Northern Zone of the State, Senator Godiya Akwashiki and prayed God to forgive his shortcomings.
While in his hometown, Angiri, Speaker Danladi Jatau hosted community leaders, politicians and groups on different engagements.
