National Directorate of Employment ( NDE) in Nasarawa State, has commenced the Basic Business Training ( BBT) for 30 beneficiaries of Enviropreneurship Developmemt Scheme ( EDS) in the state.
Mr Chris Bamsida, the State Coordinator of NDE stated this during the flag off ceremony of Basic Business Training ( BBT) for Graduated trainees of Enviropreneurship Developmemt Scheme ( EDS) in Lafia.
He said that the EDS was aimed to inculcate entrepreneurial skills in the beneficiaries in order to enable them contribute their quota positively to the development of the state and the country at large.
“This auspicious event aimed to conduct the Basic Business Training (BBT) for thirty (30) beneficiaries of the Enviropreneurship Development Scheme (EDS).
” | want to use this medium to congratulate the beneficiaries of the EDS for the successful completion of three (3) months intensive training in the skill of conversion of “Waste to Wealth”.
“| urge you to utilize your new skills and also seize the opportunity of available waste in our communities to create wealth and generate self employment.
“The operation of your skills will also enhance safe environment for healthy
living.
“The training procedure will be interactive and participatory. The curriculum is also simplified, with competent resource persons to tutor the participants.
“During the training, participants will be introduced to sensitization/motivation for entrepreneurs, forms of Business, sources of funds, record keeping, management of workers, costing of products/service, marketing, business ethics, business failure causes and prevention etc,” he said.
Bamsida, therefore urged the participants to give their necessary cooperation, with high level of discipline and commitment during the training .
” Truancy will not be condoned. | want to assure you that any consideration after the training will be on merit, ” he added .
Bamsida also called on the beneficiaries to develop sustainable business skills in the informal sector of the economy to improve the quality of lives in their homes.
He appealed to philanthropists, politicians, NGOs, governments etc to come to the aid of the beneficiaries to facilitate their skills practice.
” | call on interested bodies to collaborate with the Directorate in order to generate more employment opportunities. This is the only means we can curtail the scourge of social vices associated with unemployment in Nasarawa State,” he added .
The NDE Coordinator appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for creating conducive environment for the Directorate to operate.
” I thank the Director – General, NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu for considering Nasarawa State in programmes implementation,” he said .
Responding, Mercy Orshio, a beneficiary, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries appreciated NDE for the gesture and promised to take the training with all seriousness. ( NAN)
