Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has invited the contractor handling the construction of Technology Village in Karu LGA of the State over poor quality of work.
Hon Musa Saidu Gude, Chairman, House Committee on NUDB gave the directive when the committee inspected the ongoing construction of Technology Village in Karu LGA today.
Hon Gude ( SDP- Uke/ Karshi) said that the invitation was not to witch hunt the contractor but to ensure that right things are done for the overall development of the state.
He said that the committee was not happy with the quality of work done so far by the contractor.
” We are here to inspect the ongoing construction of Technology Village with the view of correcting any abnormality, if discovered.
” We inspected the project and the work is poorly done as we are not happy and not satisfied with the work done by the contractor.
” We are inviting the contractor handling the project to appear before us for more clarification and to enable us see and assess the design plan for the work presented to the State Government whether it tally with what they have done so far in the site,” he said
The chairman of the committee said that the invitation extended is also to enable the committee get information on access road to the surrounding communities among other areas of concern.
” There was no access roads, the work is substandard and we so much believed that what they are doing at the moment is different from what they presented to the Governor as the work plan and they will appear for clarification immediately when we resume from recess on Monday next week” He added.
