The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, has urged Nigerians to embrace inter-marriage in order to promote, oneness, unity and peace in the country.
The Speaker, who stood in for the bride’s father, who is the DFA of the Legislative Institution, Alh Alkali Haruna made the call during the wedding fatiha of Hauwa Alkali and her beloved one Musa Muhammed Azimi from Borno State on Friday in Keffi LGA.
The Speaker, who was represented by Mr Mohammed Omadefu, the Majority Leader of the House urged the couple to embrace good virtues of marriage which is love, peace, tolerance, patience, forgiveness, respect, obedience and understanding for their marriage to last.
Abdullahi also urged the couple to respect each others right.
” First and foremost, we thank God for the successful wedding fatiha of Hauwa Alkali, the daughter of the DFA of the House and her beloved one, Musa Mohammed Azimi.
” I want to advise Nigerians to embrace inter-marriage in order to foster unity and peace for the overall development of the country,” the speaker said.
Abdullahi also urged them to avoid third party in their marital affairs for peace and progress of their family.
Also Speaking, Mr Abel Bala, the Deputy Speaker of the House, who led other Members to the wedding fatiha wished the couple a blessed and fruitful marriage life.
The deputy speaker while praying for the couple to have a peaceful home, urged them to show love and embrace peace as well as avoid third party interference in their marital life.
On his part, Mr David Maiyaki, SSA to Gov. Abdullahi Sule on State Assembly Liaison, congratulated them on their successful marriage life and wished them the very best marriage life can offer.
Alh. Alkali Haruna, the DFA of the House, who gave his daughter Hauwa out to Musa from Borno State appreciated God for the successful wedding of his daughter and her beloved husband.
He also prayed God to bless their marriage and wished them well.
The DFA appreciated the speaker of the state legislature, the deputy speaker principal officers, members and staff of the assembly among other personalities and well wishers for attending the wedding and prayed God to grant them journey mercies to their various destinations
Earlier, Justice Mohammed Yahaya, the Khadi Sharia Court of Appeal, Lafia, who is also the Chief Imam of Umaisha Central Mosque announced payment of N100,000 as dowry and presentation of medical certificates.
The cleric advised the couple to adhere strictly to the Islamic roles of marriage to have an peaceful home.
