“… says assembly will ensure accountability, transparency, good governance at the third tiers of government…”

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has hailed the peaceful conduct of the local government election in the state.

Speaker Jatau, who represents Kokona West constituency gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen at his residence in Kokona, LGA after casting his vote.

Jatau expressed optimism that APC will come out victorious in the local government election in the state.

” By God’s grace, APC will win the local government election in the state” he said.

He commended Gov Abdullahi Sule for making it possible for NASIEC to conduct the local government election in the State.

 

 

” I want to appreciate His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule for making it possible for the State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) to conduct local government election in the State.

” I also want to commend the NASIEC for the conduct of the election in the state. The election is peaceful and calm” he said.

The Speaker further appreciated security agencies for the role they played in ensuring peaceful poll in the State.

“I also want to commend voters for their peaceful conduct to vote the candidates of their choice” he said.

Besides, Jatau urged those that would be elected into various offices to ensure speedy development in their local government areas as Supreme Court granted full autonomy to them.

He assured that the House would oversight the activities of local government as enshrined in the constitution for peace and grassroots development.

” We will make sure that the House will check mate the activities of the local government for accountability, transparency and good governance.

The State Number Three Citizens used the occasion to commend Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his developmental strides in Kokona LGA and the State at large.

“His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has passion for development as his project is in every local government areas of the state” he added.

Also speaking, Hon. John Mamman, the Commissioner for Education urged Chairmen and Councillor that would be elected to be transparent while discharging their duties.

According to him, I want to call on those that will be victorious at the end of the day to be transparent and accountable while discharging their duties.

” I want to urge elected chairmen to initiate people’s oriented projects such as culvert, bridges, youth centres and leave good legacies that they will be remembered for” he said.

He also lauded the peaceful conduct of the election in the state.

“I appreciate God that this election is peaceful and calm and I thank God for the successful election” he said.
