A group under the aegis of Nasarawa North Senatorial District Stakeholders and Elders Forum, has endorsed Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s bid to contest the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
The group made the endorsement in a statement issued on Thursday in Lafia by its Chairman, Mr Timothy Anjide.
They said the governor had accepted their long-standing appeal to present himself for the Senate, describing the decision as one that had rekindled hope and inspired confidence among the people of the zone.
“The acceptance of our appeal by the governor has gladdened the hearts of our people who have consistently yearned for purposeful and experienced representation at the National Assembly,” the statement said.
The stakeholders pledged their “unalloyed loyalty, unwavering commitment and total support” toward the realisation of the aspiration.
They added that the district remained united and fully mobilised to ensure the success of the project.
The forum also commended Sule for what it described as his developmental strides in infrastructure, human capital development and governance across the state.
According to the group, the governor’s performance is a testament to visionary leadership and a source of pride to the people of Nasarawa North and the state at large.
The stakeholders further reaffirmed their support for the sustenance of the state’s zoning arrangement, noting that it had continued to promote stability, equity and peaceful coexistence.
They expressed support for the position that Nasarawa West Senatorial District should produce the next governor of the state in the interest of fairness and continuity.
The group prayed for good health, wisdom and strength for the governor as he continues to serve the state.
