Member representing Akwanga North constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Larry Ven Bawa, has disbursed N6 million scholarship to 461 students of his constituency studying in tertiary institutions.

Hon Ven Bawa made this known during his maiden Annual Value Addition Scholarship Empowerment Scheme held in Akwanga LGA today Friday.

Hon. Ven Bawa, who is the Chief Whip of the House said that the gesture was to boost education in his constituency and the State at large.

According to him, during my campaign, I have promised to add value to the people of my constituency and what I have been doing is the value addition. I came to add value to your lives.

” You are aware of what I have done and still doing in the area of agriculture, employment, water supply, empowerment among others

” Today, I have decided to disburse N15,000 each to 267 degree students and !N10,000 each to 194 non degree students such as NCE, Diploma among others as part of my commitment to improve on the standard of education in my constituency and the State at large.

” This is also to reduce the burden of your school fees on your parents and guardians.

” Furthermore, it is part of my efforts in complementing Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s efforts in the education sector,” he said.

According to him, the beneficiaries cut across Ancho B, Ningha’ah, Agyaga, Nunku, Ningo/Bohar and Andaha Wards.

Ven- Bawa charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money to actualize their academic goals.

” I want to appeal to the beneficiaries to ensure they used the fund for the purpose for which it was given,” he said

He assured the people of his Constituency of quality and sound representation at the state legislature.

” By God’s grace, I will continue to put smiles in your faces through initiating good policies and programmes that will have direct bearing on your lives and the lives of others.

” I want to assure you of good and well representation at the state legislature at all times,” he said

The lawmaker urged the students to take their studies with seriousness in order to excel in their academic pursuit.

Ven-Bawa also urged the students to shun cultism, drug abuse and other negative acts in their interest and for the overall development of the state.

The Chief Whip appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his good efforts in the education sectors among other sectors of the economy.

He called on the people of his constituency and the state st large to give their maximum support to Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

Also speaking, Mr Randolph Para, Commissioner one, Nasarawa State Civil Service Commission, Mr Shuaibu Basau, Deputy Chairman, Akwanga LGA
and Mr Misi Paul Daniel, President, National Association of Mada Students commended Ven- Bawa for always be in the sides of his people via his laudable polices and programmes.

They urged the people of the constituency to support Ven.Bawa to succeed.

They also urged people of the area to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

Responding, some of the beneficiaries Mr Amwe Abubakar and Suzana Suleiman appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture and promised to be hard working and take their studies serious to excel in life.
