Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Nasarawa Urban Development Board (NUDB) has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for awarding different urban roads and other projects across the State.
The Chairman, House Committee on NUDB, Hon. Musa Saidu Gude gave the commendation when six contractors handling various roads and other projects across the state appeared before the committee in Lafia today.
Hon. Gude, who represents Uke/Karshi constituency said that the road projects, if completed would improve on the standard of living of the people of the state.
” And this will also create job opportunities, enhance socio-economic development of the state and improve on the revenue base of the state” he said.
The lawmaker said that the invitation extended to the contractors was to get more information on the work done so far by them.
“With the view of assisting where necessary and ensure that the needful is done for the overall development of the state” he said.
He commended some of the contractors for doing good jobs and urged them to ensure that they deliver quality work that will stand the test of time.
” Some of the contractors have no problems, they are doing good work and we urge them to ensure that they deliver quality work at the end of the day.
” What we want is quality work” he said.
He assured contractors of the committee’s support to succeed.
” I want to assure that contractors that have challenges, we will see how we can come and intervene to overcome their problems.
” Because what we want is the progress and development of our dear state so that our people will continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy” he said.
Besides, Hon. Gude appreciated the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau for his all inclusive and purposeful leadership.
On their parts, Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara, Hon. Daniel Ogazi, Hon. Jacob Ajegana Kudu, Hon. Hudu A Hudu and Hon. Ibrahim Peter Akwe, all urged the contractors to adhere strictly to their project specifications.
They have also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his giant developmental strides in the state and called for more in that direction.
Responding, Engr. Fersan Daou of Triacta Nigeria LTD handling the construction of Lafia Flyover and Underpass, Engr. Dayo Oladunmi of Centerfield Engineering Ltd, handling the construction of Gandu/ Gemare/ Project Quarters road, Lafia,
Others are Engr.Fagbohun Akin of Bauhaus Global Investment Limited handling dualization of Akwanga/Jos Road, Akwanga/Jos Bye Pass Road, the Contractor handling the construction of drainages at Buka Ari and Culvert at Kurikyo, and De-Pacific Investment LTD handling construction of 6KM Kari Kari Ado Kasa road, Karu LGA and Mr Charbel Tekli of Wakeme Construction Company LTD, handling construction of bridge at Koroduma, Karu LGA.
The all appreciated the committee and the state government for ensuring the the development of the State via road construction and other projects.
They assured of their readiness to do their work according to specifications for the overall development of the state.
Some of the contractors appealed to the committee to assist them to access funds, request the committee granted.
