……… why I committed over N15 million to construct the feferuwa bridge, says, Hon Alkali
Former member, representing Lafia North constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali said he has constructed Feferuwa bridge worth over N15 million in order to link over 30 communities of Lafia East Development Area and Wamba local government area.
This, he said, was to reduce the suffering being faced by the people of the benefitting communities in transporting their farm produce to the market and other day to day activities.
Hon, Alkali, who was the former Deputy Chief Whip of the House and two term ranking member made this known during the official commissioning of Feferuwa bridge in Arikiya ward, Lafia LGA today.
Hon Alkali said that the gesture was borne out of his desire to boost agricultural and socio-economic activities as well as revenue base of the people of the area.
According to him, I constructed this bridge worth over N15million because of the suffering of the people of my area. Over 30 communities are using this place (bridge)
” As this bridge link Adogi to Akura to Feferuwa to Angwan Zaria to Arugbadu Gona to Arikiya among other communities and Wamba Local Government Area,” he said.
Hon Alkali said that the construction of the bridge was to ease the hardship being faced by the people and boost revenue of the people.
” I have decided to construct this bridge in order to boost the socio-economic activities of my people, the people of Feferuwa and surrounding communities of Lafia East Development Area.
” This is also to boost their agricultural activities,boost revenue and improve on their standard of living,” he said.
Hon Alkali assured of his continued commitment to provide infrastructure, jobs and empowerment to the people of Lafia North constituency despite being out of office for now.
” I will continue to impact positively on the lives of the people of Lafia North constituency and others .
” I have done it before, I have done it today and I will continue to do it for the betterment of the people of Lafia North constituency and others,” he said.
He urged the people of the area to continue to pray and support him as well as the government of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
The former lawmaker urged the people of the area and the state at large to live in unity, peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.
Also speaking, Alhaji Aliyu Bello, the State APC Chairman, has appreciated Hon Alkali for constructing Feferuwa bridge worth over N15million.
The APC Chairman, who was represented by the state APC Youth Leader, Mr Mohammed AA Lafia said that Hon Alkali name has been written in gold for impacting positively on the lives of the people of his constituency and the state at large.
The APC Chairman drummed support for Gov Abdullahi Sule to succeed as well as for Hon Alkali to succeed in his future political ambition.
On his part, Hon Aminu Muazu Maifata, the Chairman, Lafia Local Government Area also appreciated Hon Alkali for constructing the bridge towards boosting the socio-economic activities of the people of the affected communities.
The Chairman, who was represented by the Speaker, Lafia Local Government Legislative Council Hon Yohanna Philibus Attah called on the people of the area to continue to support Gov. Sule to succeed and to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
On their parts, Alhaji Abbas Usman Buba, Sarkin Arikiya, Alhaji Kasimu Abubakar, the District Head of Feferuwa and Magajiya Feferuwa, Mrs Fatima Isa, all showered encomium on Hon Alkali for constructing the bridge among other projects in the area.
On their parts, Feferuwa Youth leader,Yakubu Mohammed and Ahmed Arikiya, former Speaker, Lafia Local Government appreciated the former lawmaker for alleviating the suffering of the people of the area via constructing the bridge.
They prayed God to bless Hon Alkali abundantly.
