A former Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, on Friday donated N750, 000 to no fewer than 73 rainstorm victims in Nasarawa State.

Maku, who was also the All Progressives Grand Alliance 2019 governorship candidate in the state, made the donation in Wakama, Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.

Recall that on June 1, rainstorm destroyed houses and property worth millions of Naira in Wakama community.

Maku, represented by Mr John Tsaku, the village head of Adzu’ Otse community, said that the gesture was borne out of his desire to affect the lives of the victims positively.

“I sympathise with you as the level of the destruction was huge.

“It is unfortunate that the rainstorm  destroyed your houses and other property,” he said.

Maku urged them to remain focused, prayerful and not be distracted.

He called on residents to continue to live in peace.

“You should all be your brother’s keepers for development to thrive in the community,” Maku said.

Responding, Mr Angbre Akawu, the village head of Awayi community, commended the former minister  for coming to the aid of the rainstorm victims.
