Magaji gets pat on the back from Nasarawa Assembly for remarkable performance

Nasarawa State House of Assembly has expressed satisfaction with the outstanding performance of the Secretary to the Government of the State Dr. Shuaibu Labaran Magaji assuring him of full support to succeed and consolidate on his achievements.

This, the House said the SSG has demonstrated his capabilities in coordinating the activities of Government MDAs effectively urging him to sustain the tempo.

The Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki (SDP Lafia Central) gave the commendation when Dr. Magaji led his management team to the State Assembly for 2025 budget assessment today Thursday.

He appreciated the SSG for the good work he is doing in the State and urged him not to relent.

” You are doing well. You are stabilizing the activities of government and we urge you to sustain it.

” Be rest assured of our support now and always, we are impressed, keep it up” He said.

Hon. Akwashiki assured the SSG of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly’s support at all times just as he used the forum and congratulated the SSG on his SAN attainment.

He equally expressed satisfaction with the budget performance of the office of SSG urging them to do more in the years ahead.

Earlier, the SSG Dr. Shuaibu Labaran Magaji appreciated the House for being up and doing in ensuring that the right things are done in the budgetary provisions of MDAs and commended the cordial working relationship between the Executive and the Legislative Arms of the Government calling for its sustenance.

He equally gave the breakdown of his office budget implementation for the second quarter of the year and revealed that all the gray areas observed during the last exercise were fully addressed.

In a related development, the Office of the State Deputy Governor and the Office of the Auditor General of the State also appeared before the Committee on Public Accounts on their 2025 second quarter budget performance.

Hon. Akwashiki the Chairman of the Committee called on the Office of the Deputy Governor to continue to adhere strictly to the budgetary provisions.

The Committee Chairman appealed to the State Government to employ more staff and provide vehicles to the Office of the Auditor General for effective service delivery.

The Committee Chairman assured them of continued synergy and support to succeed.

Earlier, Mr Polar Thomas Zeigi, the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor and Mr Bala Julius, Acting Auditor General, Nasarawa State appreciated the Committee for the support they are enjoying from them and called for its sustenance.

The Acting Auditor General however, identified under staff and lack of vehicles as some of the challenges facing the office.
