“… as Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly says he will organize general meeting for entire Kokona LG stakeholders on issue of power sharing which has been their long time tradition…”
Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau has said that him alongside other stakeholders of Kokona LG would protect and ensure power sharing in order to promote unity, equity and peace in the area.
This, the Speaker said is to protect and sustain the long time tradition of LG Chairman power sharing among the people of the area ahead of the forthcoming LG elections in the State.
The Speaker stated this while speaking during APC meeting of ward officials and stakeholders of the Six electoral wards of his constituency held today Saturday.
He said that Kokona Local Government is well known for its power sharing while expressing hope that the stakeholders of Kokona LGA will sustain the power sharing when Local Government election kick started.
” I am happy today that party officials and stakeholders of Kokona West have endorsed power sharing and I will convey stakeholders meeting of Kokona East and Kokona West on power sharing to get stakeholders inputs and endorsement” he said.
Speaker Jatau said that he decided to call for the meeting to interface with party officials and stakeholders in the area.
” And to appreciate you and discuss some issues of progress of the party and the state at large.
” I was one of the stakeholders that sat and agreed on the issue of power sharing including the late Abaga Toni among other stakeholders that endorsed power sharing  in Kokona local government to promote unity, equity and peace.
” We have produced Hausa Fulani as Chairman, Eggon has done their turn, then late Hon Saidu Gurki is from Mada and now it is Hon Awalu Adamu from Hausa Fulani as Chairman and it is the turn for another tribe to produce the next LG chairman in Kokona.
” We have been hearing that some people said there is no power sharing in Kokona, let them be sincere and tell the world the truth. For everybody know that there is power sharing in Kokona LGA.
” We want power sharing to promote unity, peace and security among various tribes in Kokona LGA,” he said.
The Speaker called on the people of the constituency and the State at large to continue to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
He said that Gov. Sule has passion for development in the state.
” His Excellency, Gov. Adullahi Sule has passion and interest of the state at his heart. He has provided infrastructure in Kokona and other local government areas of the state.
” Let’s all support him to succeed” Speaker Jatau said.
The Speaker urged the people of his constituency and the state at large to live in unity, peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.
 On their parts, Hon Ado Dauda Muhammed, former Special Adviser to Gov. Tanko Al-makura, Hon Basiru Sharubutu  Abubakar, former Chairman of Kokona LGA, Hon Oseshi Igwo, S A to Gov. Sule on Infrastructure, Hon Sabo Audu, Alhaji Abubakar Osu, Hon Adamu Zakari among other stakeholders of Kokona West constituency said they have endorsed power sharing in Kokona LGA.
They said that power sharing would promote peace and unity in the area.
They said that anybody saying that there is no power sharing is not only selfish but want to cause disunity and disharmony among various tribes in  Kokona LGA.
They called for unity and sincerity among Kokona stakeholders for power sharing to stand.
Besides, they also passed a vote of confidence on Speaker Danladi Jatau for his purposeful leadership.
On their parts, Hon Jacob Terry, Chairman, APC Kokona LGA called for support for Gov. Abdullahi Sule and Speaker Jatau to succeed.
” I have heard and seen your endorsements on power sharing. Your message will be conveyed to the party leadership,” he said.
The APC chairman also commended the Speaker for being up and doing in developing his constituency and the state at large.
Earlier, the Speaker paid homage to the District Head of Kokona community, Alhaji  Umaru Suleiman to receive his royal blessings.
Jatau assured of his continued determination to provide all inclusive and purposeful leadership in the state.
The District Head, Alhaji Umaru Suleiman appreciated the Speaker for the visit and prayed God to protect, guide and bless him in his affairs.
