Sen. Godiya Akwashiki (SDP- Nasarawa North) says he will not relent in his efforts in bringing speedy development to Nasarawa North senatorial district.
This, he said, is to improve on the standard of living of his constituents.
Akwashiki stated this at a reception in Abuja on Tuesday after his inauguration as Senator of the 10th National Assembly.
The lawmaker, who was overwhelmed with the crowd of people that came from the state, assured them of continued quality representation.
“To God be the glory, today I have been sworn-in for another four years in office.
“My second tenure begins today and by God’s grace, I will surpass my first term achievements.
“You have all known what I have done cut across all sectors of the economy and I want to assure you that I will do more,” he said.
Akwashiki pledged to complete the ongoing Wamba/ Nassarawa Eggon road, Mada Station/Iggah road, among other projects
“I want to leave good legacy and goodwill after my tenure as Senator,” he said.
He assured of his continued readiness to provide infrastructure across communities in his district and empower the people to be self reliant.
“I believe in teaching people how to catch fish than to give them fish to eat.
“I will continue to give jobs and empower the people of my constituency to enable, them become self reliant and for the overall development of our senatorial district,” he added.
Akwashiki appreciated the people for giving him another mandate to serve while promising not to fail them.
He urged the people of the senatorial district to continue to pray and support him to succeed.
In their various speeches, the President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA), Mr David Abuluya; President, Mada Developmemt Association (MDA), Engr. James Bashayi; Chief Makka Nangba, the District Head of Wakama, among others, showered encomiums on the leadership style of Akwashiki.
They commended Akwashiki for keying into different policies and programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the district.
They described Akwashiki as God-sent Senator to the district and wished him a successful tenure. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
