Kazeem Tanimu, top Fashion Executive and Publicist for late GMD of Access Holdings, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, has raised subtle concerns over what he calls “efforts to reframe” the late banking titan’s legacies at Access Bank.
Tanimu, a die-hard fan and ally of the late business mogul, particularly for his uncommon philanthropic strides, expressed his worries in series of posts on his X page(formerly Twitter),-@tmkazeem.
He wrote: “Access Bank has achieved 15 new milestones both locally and globally since Herbert Wigwe’s depature. Impressive,right? But where’s the recognition for him? After all the years he invested in laying the foundation for many of these accomplishments,…”
Tanimu, popularly known as TM, continued the post : “ Why has Access Bank yet to honour the tremendous contributions of the late figure in the ARM Pension merger? Silence speaks volumes.#ARM#HonorThe Legacy.”
He also posted that, “Why has Access Bank stalled on completing the Herbert Wigwe University project, leaving Herbert Wigwe’s vision hanging in the balance? What’s stopping progress?#AccessBank#HerbertWigwe.”
The posts have however, generated a buzz on social media, with many aligning themselves with Tanimu’s opinion, saying there was need to sustain the legacies of the late icon.
Also, Tanimu flayed recent media report alleging that members of the family of the late banking executive were having disputes over his estate, saying it was a sponsored distraction by those plotting to erase Herbert Wigwe’s legacies.
He posted :“ Family dispute that didn’t become public till I started asking questions about why Access Bank is trying to erase Herbert’s legacy? Who sponsored all these publications? We know all their cowardly tactics and I say bring it on? More questions on my next post.”
Tanimu, a youth mobilizer and advocate of good governance across Africa, have remained a firm believer in the ideas of Herbert Wigwe, even in death, particularly for dedicating his time and resources to the service of humanity and to social interventions, especially in providing education and healthcare.
