Married couples have been reminded on the need to continue to uphold religious and societal values in child upbringing to inculcate morals on them and build an egalitarian society.

The Immediate Past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly and current Chairman Governing Council Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi gave the advise during the weeding faitha of his step daughter Rukaiyat and her spouse Yahaya today in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

The former Speaker, Balarabe Abdullahi who led former and serving state lawmakers and government functionaries to the wedding fatiha of his step daughter Rukaiya Umaru Ibrahim and her spouse Yahaya Muhammad Dantsoho advised them to avoid third party and always resolve their differences among themselves, intensify prayers and understanding to have a successful marriage and peaceful home.

 

Balarabe Abdullahi challenged his step daughter to sustain the family legacy bestowed on her so as to sustain and enjoy her matrimony.

He called on the couple to always remember that marriage is a religious contract that should be uphold with sanctity and prayers.

After fulfilling the religious injunctions and payment of 150 thousand naira as dowry, the Chief Imam of Gidin Mangoro Juma’at Mosque Lafia, Mallam Alhasan Musa pronounced Rukaiyat and Yahaya as husband and wife with a call on them to always adhere to the sanctity of matrimony as enshrined in the Glorious Quran.

The Islamic Cleric reminded the couple that continuous negligence of religious and societal values in child upbringing is responsible to moral decay and social vices in the society, tasking them to nurture their children accordingly if God bless them with the fruit of the worm.

Also in the words of advice to Rukaiyat and Yahaya member representing Keana Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Mohammed Adamu Omadefu and the former Majority Leader of the House Hon. Umar Tanko Tunga said patience, tolerance, understanding and fear of God are some of the weapons in sustaining marriage, urging them not to be distracted in running their affairs.

In an interview, the State Secretary, Teachers’ Service Commission Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa called on Rukaiyat and her spouse Yahaya to avoid intermediaries in their union and learn how to handle their affairs devoid of crisis.

The wedding ceremony brought together personalities within and outside government circle who came to identify with the parents and the couple.
