Enugu State Government has commended the Federal Government for flagging-off the reconstruction of 260 kilometer road leading from Makurdi to Enugu State.
Aka Eze Aka, the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, gave the commendation in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Enugu.
The commissioner said the Enugu State Government was grateful to the FG for commencing work on the dual 260km road from Makurdi – Enugu.
Aka recalled recalled that the Federal Government, on Jan. 26 flagged-off construction of the dual 260km road.
He said the Minister of Works, David Umahi, who performed the exercise also disclosed that there would be a construction of a flyover at the wurukum round-about in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
“The minister noted that the work will improve security, by reducing robbery and kidnappings on the highway,” Aka said.
The commissioner said it was important to highlight that the project was made possible due to the cordial relationship between the Enugu State Government and the Federal Government.
“Enugu State is grateful that the Federal Government prioritised the roads. The project, when completed will boost the economy of the state, grow Enugu’s economy and reduce the poverty headcount to zero.
“We are determined to continue to forge workable and progressive partnership with the Federal Government to build a conducive environment for business and high returns on investment
