Our Beloved Girl-Child Global Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has called on Nigerians to ensure unity and peaceful coexistence, as they celebrate Easter for sustainable development of the country.

According to her, every Nigerian regardless of tribe and religion needs love peace and tolerance.

“Love your neighbour as yourself, your neighbour is not defined; he can be a Christian, Muslim, Hindu but the command is love your neighbour as yourself.

“We are a multi religious nation and you should be able to know who your neighbour is because, you are under the commandment of God to love your neighbour as yourself.

“Nigeria is a country of diverse cultures and traditions which can easily be explored for the development of the country through love, care and good relationship with God.

“There is unity in diversity, that is the strength of Nigeria our country, and will forever remain our strength; love and tolerance brought about unity in the country,” she said.

Obenwa said Easter celebration should be regarded as a period of reflection to emulate the life of Jesus Christ on earth for the love of one another.

However,  she added that the foundation had been empowering and promoting female education and providing educational support to young people through its female students’ scholarship scheme and skills campaigns. (NAN)
