A philanthropist, Mr Victor Uwajeh has donated a new Toyota utility vehicle to the vigilante group of Onicha-Ugbo community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta.

This is contained in a statement by Daniel Ebo, Consultant on Strategic Communication to Uwajeh on Tuesday in Abuja.

Uwajeh who is also a community leader, said the donation would enhance security surveillance in and around the community.

Uwajeh said his decision to donate another vehicle to the security outfit  was to complement the one he donated years ago.

“The donation was my continued show of love for my community and commitment towards contributing my quota to the socio-economic development and security of the area.

“Security outfits needed to be equipped with gadgets, functioning vehicles and motorcycles for easy movement to check crime.

“I want to commend the traditional ruler and members of my Council of Chiefs, the President General of Onicha-Ugbo Patriotic Union (OPU) and members world-wide as well as the other security agencies in the area.

The Vehicle was presented to the group by the traditional ruler of the community, Obi Agbogidi Victor Chukwulieze 1, and Chief Alex Ujumba Odi-Okoh, head/coordinator of the vigilante operations.

Chukwualieze who expressed appreciation on behalf of the community, described Uwajeh as a devoted and committed illustrious son.

He said that he had proved himself worthy to be emulated as a result of his continuous show of exemplary character.

In a remark, Odi-Okoh described Uwajeh as a man of many good parts and a community development motivator.

He advised the beneficiary of the vehicle to make good use of it and ensure regular maintenance so as to serve its purpose. (NAN)
