City Boy Movement, PiCNG partner to advance grassroots development

The City Boy Movement (CBM) has announced a strategic partnership with the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PiCNG) to accelerate inclusive, grassroots-focused development in support of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.


The Director-General of CBM, Francis Shoga made this known during a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman/CEO of PiCNG, Ismaeel Ahmed in Abuja.

Shoga, in a statement said that CBM’s role in the partnership was to drive a bottom-up adoption strategy, ensuring that CNG-related opportunities, training, and infrastructure reach communities nationwide, urban and rural alike.

“The collaboration aligns directly with the mandate of the City Boy Movement, which include mobilising citizens at the grassroots, promoting government policies, empowering communities economically and fostering national unity.

“The collaboration also aims at driving sustainable development initiatives across all 36 states and the FCT,” he said.

He described the PiCNG programme as a transformative national instrument with the potential to reduce unemployment, stimulate economic growth, and advance environmental sustainability.

“The PiCNG initiative, rooted in the Renewed Hope Agenda, promotes the widespread adoption of CNG, saves costs, creates jobs, and encourages environmental sustainability,.

“It supports national priorities on sustainable transport, emission reduction, gas-flaring mitigation, and broad-based economic growth,” Shoga added.

In his response, PiCNG CEO Ismaeel Ahmed expressed the organisation’s readiness to collaborate closely with the City Boy Movement, describing the partnership as a vital link between Federal initiatives and local communities.

Ahmed emphasised that joint efforts between PiCNG and CBM will strengthen public awareness, grassroots mobilisation, and nationwide education on the economic and environmental benefits of CNG.

According to him, it will ensue that Nigerians can fully participate in and benefit from the country’s emerging gas-powered economy.

The City Boy Movement is a Nigerian socio-political youth organisation, focused on empowering youths, promoting national unity, and supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda through financial aid, skills development, scholarships, and political mobilisation.
