The Kaduna State House of Assembly Speaker, Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, has felicitated Nigerian Christians as they celebrate Christmas, saying the nation’s unity is sacrosanct.

Zailani, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Dahiru-Danfulani, on Sunday in Kaduna, said the unique event of Christmas brings to fore, the needed unity of Nigeria, which is “sacrosanct, inviolable and paramount.”

According to him, the yuletide is also a period of reflection on what differentiates Nigerians so as to understand each other.

“Allah says in the Holy Quran that he created mankind as races and tribes so that they may understand each other. Therefore, our being together as one is a divine design that should be made to continue existing,” he said.

Zailani sued for peace and understanding, among all, while urging Nigerians to continue to pray for sustained peace and progress as Nigerians prepare for the 2023 elections.

He prayed for Allah’s blessings, mercies and good tidings on the auspicious occasion, wishing all Christians a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year in advance.
