Bwari Area Council of the FCT, on Wednesday resumed the reconstruction of its township road, popularly known as the T-Junction, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

NAN reports that the ongoing reconstruction of the 3-kilometre road commenced in December, 2023, alongside other major reconstruction and rehabilitation projects in the district.

Mr Chide Momoh, Director For Works, Housing, Land and Survey in the council, while supervising the work on Wednesday at the road site, told NAN that the project would be completed in no time.

He explained that the work, which stopped at some point, was not intentional but was to allow stakeholders involved to strategies and address some challenges met earlier, along the way.

Momoh said that Mr John Gabaya led administration had demonstrated determination for the development of the district and would do all it takes to ensure no ongoing project was abandoned.

He assured that the resumption of work on the road would bring an end to the daily stress experienced by road users and residents along the road, while adding that a lengthy part of the road had been covered with bitumen.

One of the residents, Mr Chigozie John, while commending the council’s efforts, said he was glad that the administration heard their pleas and resumed work in no time.

“The dust was almost killing us, if not for the few times rain fell. At least now, we are sure the road was not abandoned and it would be opened to commuters soon.

“It will ease traffic, God bless the chairman and his team, ” John said.

NAN also reports that some residents of the area had in April, appealed for the speedy completion of the road, which was situated at the central part of the town, hosting commercial activities.

NAN further reports that the ongoing Bwari township road rehabilitation starts from the T-junction to the National Defense College roundabout, near Ushafa in the district.

Other completed and ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction projects includes the council secretariat road, Igu-Shere-Kawu road, renovation of the town slaughter house and Yellow page road , Kubwa among others. (NAN)
