The Nigerian Army on Saturday unveiled a State-of-the-Art Wargaming Centre in Jaji Kaduna State, to enhance training, planning and operational deployment of troops.
The facility is located at the Department of Land Warfare, Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji.
It was designed to support realistic simulations, modern operational planning and advanced decision-making processes for officers preparing for complex security operations.
This is contained in a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele, on Saturday in Abuja.
In his remarks, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, described AFCSC as a central pillar in shaping the intellectual and operational competence of military leaders.
Shaibu said the centre would enable Commanders to plan, rehearse and execute missions with greater precision in today’s fast-changing security landscape.
He said the investment in advanced training technologies remained a priority for the Army as it continues to modernise its operational systems and strengthen troop deployment nationwide.
The COAS urged the students of the college to maximise the facility, stressing that Nigeria’s security environment demands adaptive, technology-driven and forward-thinking leadership.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support to the Armed Forces, stating that the Nigerian Army’s Transformation Agenda had been bolstered by the president’s commitment to national security.
He also commended the Commandant and the College community for their dedication to excellence.
The Commandant of AFCSC, AVM Hassan Alhaji, said the centre would significantly upgrade the College’s capacity to produce officers equipped for evolving threats.
Alhaji said the facility, conceptualised under the leadership of the COAS, would deepen strategic thinking, refine operational concepts and improve combat readiness across all theatres.
According to him, the college will continue to support the Department of Land Warfare in delivering world-class professional military education to Nigerian and foreign officers. (NAN)
