Alleged Forgery: EFAB Properties Ltd CEO Absence, stalls arraignment again

The planned arraignment of the Chief Executive Officer of EFAB Properties Limited, Fabian Nwaora, on alleged forgery charges was on Monday stalled once again following his failure to appear before an Abuja High Court.

Nwaora is facing a seven-count charge bordering on alleged forgery filed against him by the Inspector-General of Police.

During the proceedings, prosecution counsel, Wisdom Madaki, informed the court that the defendant had been duly served with the charge, expressing surprise that he was not present for his arraignment.

The arraignment was earlier stalled on March 2 due to his absence.

However, defence counsel, Ezekiel Egbo, told the court that his client could not attend the hearing because he had travelled out of town before the court documents were served on his secretary.

Madaki subsequently applied for an adjournment to enable the arraignment to proceed on a definite date.

Presiding judge, Justice Aliyu Shafa, granted the request and adjourned the matter until April 22 for arraignment.

According to the charge, marked FHC/HC/CR/748/2025, it alleged that Nwaora forged International passport no. A01646675 with name Kenneth Chinedu Ogbogu purported to have been issued by Nigeria Immigration Service on or about April 5, 2024.

The police alleged that Nwaora used as genuine a forged International Passport with the said name and altered a certificate of incorporation with company name Ke Keneco Investment Ltd with company registration No. 619680 signed by A.Almustapha Registrar General.

The prosecution further alleged that Nwaora forged a company letter head paper, used it as genuine and forged a national identity number(NIN) purportedly to have been issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMSC).

The offence,, the police said, contravened the provisions of sections 364, 366, 362 of the Penal Code and punishable under 364
