Sen. John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, has congratulated Super Eagles over their 1-0 victory against the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire at the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
In a statement by the media office of the Minister on Friday, Owan-Enoh expressed his delight with the team’s performance.
“The victory against Cote d’Ivoire is commendable, and defeating the host nation is a good sign of the team’s exceptional capabilities.
“The President and football-loving people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are all rooting for you to stay victorious until the end.
“We all believe in you, It’s in you to win all through.
“Keep winning through all stages and bring home the trophy. We have done it before, and we can do it again. Let’s do it again,” the Minister said.
As the tournament progresses, Enoh encouraged the players and coaches to maintain their focus, determination and team spirit.
It may be recall that William Troost-Ekong scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot, putting the team on four points in two games in Group A.
Eagles will take on Guinea-Bissau in their last group game on Monday.
