President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday held private meeting with former President Jonathan Goodluck who visited the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The agenda of the meeting was not made public, but it might not be unconnected with normal congratulatory and goodwill visit after the election of Tinubu.
The president also received the newly inaugurated Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Akpabio’s visit to the villa was ostensibly to thank President Tinubu for his support and solidarity during his struggle to win the election as Senate President.
He won the election held on Tuesday with 63 votes to defeat his rival Abdulaziz Yari, who polled 48 votes.
Senator Barau Jibrin from Kano state was elected deputy senate president.
Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo State governor was also at the presidential villa to meet with Tinubu.
He was followed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State and Abdullahi Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State.
Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), was also at the presidential Villa on Tuesday.
