Sen. Godiya Akwashiki ( SDP- Nasarawa North) at the National Assembly, on Saturday recieved rousing welcome by members and supporters of Social Democratic Party ( SDP) of Nasarawa North Senatorial District.
Similarly, Hon. Mohammed Ibrahim Agah Muluku, the most ranking lawmaker and member representing Nassarawa Eggon East constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly also received enconmiums from his constituents over his developmental strides in his constituency.
Hon Aliyu Safiyanu Maizuma, the SDP candidate for Akwanga/ Nassarawa Eggon/ Wamba constituency also joined the people to welcome Akwashiki.
Akwashiki, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Labour, Employment and Productivity, was away on medical trip for some months, was received at Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area of the State by his supporters.
Hundreds of party supporters had thronged the Akwanga/ Keffi/ Abuja/ Lafia road in a long convoy of vehicles to welcome Akwashiki back home as well shower encomium on Hon Mohammed Ibrahim Agah Muluku, the Nasarawa State House of Assembly most ranking lawmaker and member representing Nassarawa Eggon East constituency.
The long convoy of vehicles was joined by a crowd of supporters that trooped to the streets and followed Akwashiki and Muluku to the palaces of Orinye Rindre in Wamba and Aren Eggon in Nassarawa Eggon LGAs respectively.
The senator said that the visit was to appreciate the monarchs for their prayers which led to his successful medical trip as well as to recieve their royal blessings.
Akwashiki also condoled Eggon nation over the demise of their paramount ruler, Dr Bala Abaine Angbazo and prayed God to forgive his short coming and grant him eternal rest.
” I am here to thank God and thank you for your prayers. For some months now, I am away on medical trip and I thank God that the operation was successful and today I am back home.
” I give God the glory and I also want to appeal to you and others to continue to pray for me at all times.
” As prayer is key to the success of every individual, he said.
The senator also assured of his continue commitment to engage in issues-based campaign in the interest of peace and for the overall development of the constituency.
” Leadership comes from God, continue to pray for me and those contesting for the same position with me.
” As God gives leadership to whom he wants,” he said.
Akwashiki also re-assured of good and quality representation, if re-elected to the red chamber of the national Assembly.
On his part, Muluku, the Most Ranking Lawmaker and Member representing Nassarawa Eggon East constituency at the state legislature re-assured of continuous purposeful leadership, if re-elected come 2023.
” I want to re-assure the people of my constituency of more dividends of democracy, if re-elected come 2023.
” As you can see the crowd, we have the people, our people are with us and we will also continue to be with them.
” I have done my best and still doing my best in the area of education, agriculture, health, education, employment, empowerment, payment of school fees, medical bills, assistance to widows, orphans, less privileged ones and other people.
” I will do more and my people will enjoy more dividends of democracy, if re-elected in 2023, ” he said.
The lawmaker also pledged all inclusive, sound and good respresentation at the state legislature, if re-elected come 2023.
Responding, Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo ( rtd) the Orinye Rindre appreciated God for the successful medical trip of Akwashiki.
The first class traditional ruler also prayed and wished the senator well in all of his future endeavors.
Alhaji Usman Galadima Umbugadu, the Aren Akun, who spoke on behalf of Eggon traditional council thanked Akwashiki for condoling with them on the demise of Aren Eggon, Dr Bala Abaine Angbazo
He prayed for good and sound health to Akwashiki
