Alhaji Mohammed Danlami Idris, the Executive Chairman of Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has urged the 14 councillors of the area to be transparent and accountable to their people while discharging their duties.

This, he said, was in the interest of peace and overall development of the area.

Danlami-Idris made the call during the swearing in ceremony of the councillors in Nassarawa Eggon on Tuesday.

He said that Transparency and accountability would not only promote good governance but would also ensure speedy development of the area.

The chairman , who was represented by his Deputy, Ben Manga,also urged the councillors to operate an open door policy for the overall development of the area.

” I call on you to be open to your people.

” You should also live above board while discharging your duties for development to thrive,” he said.

He assured the legislative arm of the council of good working relationship for the overall development of the area.

Danlami-Idris also assured the people of the area of purposeful and all inclusive leadership.

He called on the people of the area to support Gov.Abdullahi Sule’s administration beyond 2023.

Mr Yakubu Abdullahi, the clerk to the council,while swearing in the Speaker, Mr Kigbu Amos and Suleiman Usman, the Deputy speaker of the council, urged them to abide by the oath of office taken.

Abdullahi also urged them to discharge their duties without fear or favour.

Responding, Mr Kigbu Amos, the Speaker of the legislative council,promised to live above board in the discharge of their duties.

The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that those sworn in include Yohanna Alizi -Iggah/Burumburum ward , Abashi Esson-Ikka/Wangibi ward Kasimu- Umar-Mada Station ward – Kigbu Amos-Lizzi/Ezzen ward , Malla Envulu-Aripka/Lambaga ward.

Others are: Kasimu- Allu- Kagbu ward , Bala Agunji- Agunji/Ogbagi ward Suleiman Egga Alogani ward , Usman Musa- Nassarawa Eggon/ Alizaga ward Suleiman Usman-Umme ward Sunday Egga- Alushi/ Ginda ward ,Thomas Bako- Wakama ward , Ovey Waki -Ogba/ Ubbe/ Ganji bward and Yara Abeson – Ende ward. ( NAN)
