Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria ( SCIAN), Nasarawa State, has distributed assistive devices to its members in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The association, said that the gesture was to ease mobility and foster independence among spinal cord injury survivors.

Nasarawa State Chapter disclosed this today at the distribution exercise in Akwanga LGA.
He said that the gesture was courtesy, the Beautiful Gate Foundation.
He appreciated the foundation for the donation and prayed God to bless them abundantly.
” We express our heartfelt appreciation toBeautiful Gate Foundation, our distinguished guests, and everyone who has contributed to making this initiative successful.
” I am delighted to announce that one of those plans has now become a reality. Through the generosity of an NGO, The Beautiful Gate Foundation.
“Tricycle wheelchairs, crutches, have been donated to our association for distribution to our members free of charge.
“This intervention is a great encouragement to us, and we sincerely appreciate the foundation for this remarkable act of kindness and commitment to improving the lives of persons with disabilities,” he said
According to him, today marks another significant milestone in our commitment to improving the lives and wellbeing of persons living with spinal cord injuries and other disabilities in Nasarawa State.
” As you may recall, last week, the Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria (SCIAN), Nasarawa State Chapter, successfully held its 2026 Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Programme in Lafia.
“During the programme, we emphased the importance of supporting our members and persons with Disabilities, particularly through the provision of assistive devices and other essential needs.
” I am delighted to announce that one of those plans has now become a reality. Through the generosity of an NGO, The Beautiful Gate Foundation, tricycle wheelchairs, crutches, have been donated to our association for distribution to our members free of charge,” he said.
He also appreciated Hon Ovey Waki, Education Secretary, Akun Development Area and other for their support to the association.

” To all our distinguished guests and supporters, we want you to know that your contributions will change on the standard of living of our members,” he said.
The Chairman assured of his commitment to initiate different policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of its members
” Let me emphasized that one of the major objectives of SCIAN Nasarawa State Chapter is to ensure that no member is left behind.
” We are committed to supporting our members through the provision of assistive devices, mobility aids, welfare assistance, rehabilitation support, and other interventions that can improve their independence, dignity, and quality of life,” he added
He further appealed for more assistive devices to its members to change on their lives positively.
” However, the needs are still enormous. Many of our members are in urgent need of assistive devices such as manual and electric wheelchairs, transfer boards, walking frames, pressure-relief cushions, and other mobility and rehabilitation equipment.
“It is against this background that I wish to make a passionate appeal to the general public, philanthropists, government officials, corporate organisations, NGOs, community leaders, and well-meaning individuals to partner with us in this noble cause.
” If you have the capacity to support us financially, donate assistive devices, or facilitate any form of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to the association for our members improved standard of living,” he added
The Chairman urged its members to make judicious use of the items to change on their standard of living positively.
” To our beneficiaries, I encourage you to make good use of these devices. They are not just pieces of equipment; they represent hope, independence, dignity, and an opportunity to participate more actively in society,” he added.
Also speaking, Hon. Ovey Waki, Education Secretary, Akun Development Area, Mr Akolo David, Special Assistant to Gov. Abdullahi Sule on NAYEA and Mr Bala Ewuga, Chairman, Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA) Wakama branch among others solicited for support to the association to succeed.
It would be reported that assistive devices distributed include Wheelchair, Crutches and Walkers.
