As part of its commitment to discovering and developing young talents in football,
MOP Stars FC Academy has signed 20 youngsters into its under-14 team.
The young footballers drawn from different states across Nigeria were unveiled at MOP Stars Arena, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday.
MOP stars FC signed the youngsters from Young Future FA to manage them in the next 10 years, as part of its quest to scout, nurture and promote emerging footballers across the country.
The players are listed from states across all geo-political zones, including Kaduna, Plateau, Enugu, Bauchi, Kogi, FCT, Traba, Kano, Lagos , Delta and others.
In post-unveiling matches played, the young MOP Stars team shocked fans and football enthusiasts with their brave and skillful performance, as they defeated Royal FC 2-0, and later thrashed Sakwatan Academy 2-0 same day.
Speaking on the signing, Coach of Young Future FA, Waje Buhari Israel, lauded management of MOP Stars for offering its platform for the lads.
Dr Suleiman Adejoh, president of MOP Stars FC, said the initiative was part of his commitment towards discovery, development and empowerment of Nigeria’s budding talents in football.
“The Messengers of Peace (MOP) Stars Football Academy was born out of the need to preach peace in Nigeria through sports and engage young Nigerians positively, while also contributing to the development of football.
“We have other players , including those in under -16 and the under-19 teams playing and winning games , so these ones being unveiled today are parts of our under-14 team.
“As you can see, they came from different states, a testament to our belief in even development of talents across Nigeria,” he said.
