The Member representing Umuasha/Ugya constituency, at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Sa’ad has distributed food items to Christian communities in his constituency to enable them celebrate Christmas with joy.
The distribution exercise took place Wednesday in Umaisha Area Administrative Council ahead of the festive period.
According to the Lawmaker, Christmas season is a period for sharing love with one another irrespective of affiliations hence the need for him to extend hands of fellowship to Christians brothers and sisters in order to assist them celebrate the season joyfully.
It was reported that Christians from the six electoral wards that make up Umaisha/Ugya constituency to include Shegye, Kanyehu, Tatakpa, Dausu, converged in Umaisha for the festival packages.
The beneficiaries of the gesture also includes security agencies, groups and individuals among others.
The Lawmaker, enjoined the people to live in peace with one another irrespective of tribe, religious, political and ethnic differences.
He said, the people of his constituency have showed him love during last election, stood by him and make sure he succeed, hence the need for him to also provide succor and other dividends of democracy to them.
“My people has done a lot for me, now it is time to give back to them what they deserve, and I will continue to be with them and ensure that they get what they deserve from me”
He added that, there is nothing he can do that will adequately compensate the sacrifices they have made for him praying God to reward them just as he pledged his total commitment to always be there for them.
He used the opportunity to appreciate Governor Abdullahi Sule, Speaker Danladi Jatau, and the Ohimegye Opanda for their advise, encouragement and support to him at all times and solicited for more guidance, support and prayers so that he can achieve more results in the remaining years of his tenure.
For the medical equipment and drugs he purchased and kept at the General Hospital Umaisha, Hon. Sa’ad said it was in preparation for free medical outreach that is bild to commence in the next few weeks.
He said, the ten days free medical outreach is to assist those suffering from various ailments and can not afford the medical expenses to access free medical services.
Speaking at the event, the Sarkin Sogane, Tatari Dangana, Sarkin Kudu, Maigida Alkali, Sarkin Turuku Gbagyi, among other village heads and community leaders as well as some beneficiaries showered praises and blessings to the Hon. Member for supporting the Christians with food items during the Christmas season.
They commended him for the kind gesture saying it will go a long way in bringing smile in their faces.
They pray God to protect and guide the Lawmaker to be able to do more than what he has done in the years ahead and called on the people of the area to support him beyond 2027 so that they can continue to be recognize and enjoy more dividends of democracy.
