Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has called on members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kokona Local Government Area to demonstrate unity and loyalty to the party.
He made this appeal during an expanded stakeholders meeting with critical stakeholders of the party held at his residence in Garaku, Kokona LGA on Sunday.
The meeting, which brought together key stakeholders from the local government area, including the representatives of different tribes was aimed to strengthening the party unity and reinforce its position in the state.
Dr. Jatau said unity and loyalty among APC members is seen as a bid to consolidate the party’s gains and ensure a strong outing in future elections.
He maintained that Kokona Local Government Is known with unity as evident through power sharing initiated by elders.
The Speaker urged APC members in Kokona Local Government Area to put aside their differences and work towards a common goal.
This, he believes, will enable the party to achieve greater heights and maintain its relevance in the state’s political landscape.
The Chairman of Kokona Local Government Area, Hon. Agbawu Mek Agbawu, and the Commissioner for Education, Dr. John Mamman, called for unity among members of the Kokona Legislative Council, emphasizing the need for cordial working relationships among council members to promote effective governance and development in the local government area.
The stakeholders unanimously agreed to support the state government’s direction ahead of the 2027 election, recognizing the importance of a united front in achieving their goals.
They also resolved to respect the decisions and directions of the state Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to governance and development in the state.
This unity it was observed is expected to send a strong message to other stakeholders and opposition parties, demonstrating the APC’s commitment to working together towards a common objective.
